The working principle of the imaging cur...

The working principle of the imaging curve grinding machine (commonly known as the optical curve grinding machine) is based on optical magnification and contour control, and it is used for high-precision grinding of complex-shaped workpiece surfaces. Its core is to magnify and project the workpiece contour onto a screen through an optical system, allowing the operator to adjust the grinding wheel path in real time accordingly, thus achieving contour grinding.

Specific process:

1. Optical magnification system: The workpiece and grinding wheel are magnified 50 times through an optical lens and projected onto a screen, making minute contour changes clearly visible and facilitating observation of the machining status.

2. Profiling control: The operator manually or through motor control, adjusts the movement of the workpiece (such as the longitudinal, transverse, or vertical movement of the workbench) based on the enlarged image on the screen, allowing the grinding wheel to continuously grind along the workpiece surface. For complex surfaces, segmented projection grinding can be employed to ensure smooth connections between each segment.

3. Motion coordination: The multi-directional movement of the grinding head slide and worktable (e.g., 150mm in the longitudinal direction and 100mm in the transverse direction) is coordinated with the reciprocating motion of the grinding wheel spindle (with a stroke of 54mm and a speed of 45-85 strokes/minute), achieving precise machining of three-dimensional contours.

This principle is applicable to machining straight lines, arcs, or any curved surfaces, and is particularly suitable for form grinding of precision components such as molds and cutting tools.
